Australian Go Center supports learning, teaching, community connection and the preservation of Australia’s Go story.
Our mission
We aim to make Go easier to discover and more enjoyable to learn. Our work brings together introductory teaching, school outreach, community information, events, Australian Go history and links to the wider international Go world.
Across cultures and generations
Known as Go in English, Weiqi in Chinese and Igo in Japanese, the game has connected people across East Asia for centuries and now has an international community. In multicultural Australia, it offers a natural meeting place for different languages, ages and backgrounds.
Beginning locally, connecting nationally
Our teaching and school work begins on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane. Through Australia’s established players, clubs and organisers, we also seek to support connections in Sydney, Melbourne and other communities.
